Help! I bought a 1969 Power King Economy. The old 14 hp Kohler was replaced with a NEW 14 hp Kohler engine. The holes that attach the old spindle with the new flywheel are different sizes and do not line up. The Mower Deck will not work without the spindle running from the flywheel. What should I do?

First, what model & spec is the replacement engine, and what is the diameter & length of the original flywheel's pto spindle?

There is a couple diff spindles depending on years and engine sizes. One has 5/16" holes, another has 3/8" holes and the spacing is diff, so not sure you can just bore them out to fit. Think center fits in flywheel the same, would have to check. I have one of those in my stuff, but would have to find out which one. I would send for shipping if it is correct. Want me to look? Best to PM me on the answer.

Thanks everyone. I did get the holes re-drilled and now the drive is working fine, problem is, not I get absolutely zero electric to anything. I can't even get a "click" out of the starter. Is there a "kill" somewhere on this thing?

Get wire diagram and follow it thru, wire by wire.  Didn't get the year/model you had, but about only safety switch is the pto one. Won't crank if the pto witch is ON. Cleaning battery cables first, charge in battery?  Try crossing the selinoid  from batt term to the small start term to see if it kicks in. OR, can go right across the two big cable terms also to get direct connect, but more sparks that way. Go around and check the wire connections for loose or cut thru somewhere. The key switch has several connections and is a start position on that to check. Cleaning wire ends and connections is good idea. If was working before spindle work, maybe you just bumped a wire or pulled off somewhere?  Give it the once over as noted.  Might be wire diagrams in owner's manuals on this forum. Most are the same, but their are differences for some years, compare to yours.
