it should work okay

just do not feed it to fast

now all you have to do is figure a way to clean out  after things are shredded

I have a old WW Grinder model 2 with a 5 hp and Renegade 250 with a 8 hp

always have to shovel it out

wish I had something like this

it was made by WW Grinder

Ran into a problem with the drive belt, im hoping you guys can help me with.

The seller put on a new drive belt when i bought it, 5/8 x 29 kevlar coated, it eat it right up within 30 min, wore through the sides to the inner core, bought another yesterday, eat that one in about the same time, side wear again, i am starting to wonder if this takes the A belt ? .

The chipper/shredder has a idler pulley clutch that i slowly engage until up to speed, during that engagement is when most of the wear occurs spitting the kevlar coating. Under a load (chipping/shredding) i noted it slipping a bit, the alignment of the PTO pulley to the driven pulley is straight.

It seems i am left with one of two choices, find a heavy duty replacement belt that will tolerate heavy side wears or replace the idler pulley clutch with a mechanical clutch.

Does anyone know of a distributor that provides a manual engagement mechanical disk or cone clutch for 1 '' bore - 4 1/2 diameter pulley for B belt ?

Electromagnetic clutch would require battery and charging system so that's out.

What I see calls for a W5L290 like you had on it.  Mine has a 4L belt on it at the moment.

I suppose that special size is designated by the "W" ahead of the 5L290.

Yep, when I put the full number in, ALL references specify it as a Troy-Bilt part.

Yes, Bolens/Troybilt always seemed to use odd size belts!

Yeah, i was able to find out the size being of 5/8 '' x 29 '' but i gess my mistake would be not getting the OEM.

Bolens1000 im sending you a PM now.
