Try hammering on your block of wood around the outside of the pulley, too (just don't bend the pulley).

Yeah thats what im afraid of, dont really wanna bend the pulley.

I havent taken it off, but i do understand how to get it off. Id just like to get the pulley before i take it off and then check for belt size. I have decided im going to do an inch or so smaller pulley in the rear. When you measure a pulley, do you measure the outside diameter? Or the inside diameter? (Where the belt sits)

I'm not sure about measuring a pulley. Maybe someone else here can help.

So i was tinkering around with my wheel horse and i wanted to see if i could get the front engine pulley off. Well after a few bolts, some vibrations from a hammer. It can right off surprisingly. So im going to do a front pulley swap instead. Im going from a 2 3/4" pulley to a 3 1/2" pulley. Not much but im thinking it will make a difference.
