Had a laugh over this one today.

http://www.ebay.com/...=item4ad61c0b9c

A worn Bushing and Seal for $10.00 plus shipping!

My Price on both new ones would be about the same! :wtf:

I have noticed more and more posts like this and I just shake my head, who in their right mind goes and buys a used oil seal? Another one I like is when people sell used Idlers and belts :wallbanging:

one I like is the guy who sell you a pile of rare used rusty bolts, nuts and lock washers. Most time there just common box store hardware. Only a few tractors used bolts with oversized heads, or had some company mark on them.

Just wait, Brian, some sucker will buy that yet.  And then wonder why the problem wasn't fixed.

IH stamped bolts sell like hotcakes.  I had a box of old Rockford stamped bolts that an immaculate Briggs restorer wanted.  Clinton had their arrowhead stamped on some head bolts.

Here's the other way to look at it, though.  You've got plenty of market material that doesn't know you can get the bushing and seal for that price brand new.  Keep on building your business, and these guys will learn that the worn out stuff doesn't sell because Brian sells it new.

I have Clinton engine here and all the bolts have Clinton stamped rite onto the head, pretty neat actually. As for the bushings you may sell new ones but those are "original" :bigrofl:  And they don't make them like that anymore :bigrofl:.

Sometimes an add that sounds really stupid is code for something else entirely. Back in the day when I sold fresh cream and milk right off the farm,( unpasteurised of course) it was deemed by someone in a position of authority that perhaps this could be seen as a health and safety issue. It became illegal to sell milk at the farmgate----- so most of us simply then mentioned that we had some quart sealers for sale for $4.00 each. The fact that they had cream in them when they were picked up just meant that the buyer had to wash them before they could use them for whatever. That was my story and I stuck to it, lol.

I've seen people on  E-Pay try and sell just about anything,,, a common cotter pin,,a nut ,,or bolt...Then post a pic of a GT,, or car,, to make it look like it's only for that item,,or OEM.. or  NEW-OLD-STOCK

ONLY---  .99 cents,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,  $ 6.95 shipping......... :wallbanging:            There's an Idiot born every minute  !!!!!       If people are that gullible then,, they  need to pay for it .. ( thru  stupidity  )

I have a GOLD mine of nuts and bolts flying around my garage then..    OEM..     TRUST ME..!!   :D

I have been saving  some of the old square nuts lately,,, they seem to be more scarce lately.. like  3/8  5/8  5/16 and  1/2 in.

But I will sell them for the HIGH price of,,,,????  for someone  who's willing to pay..       :rolling:
