Water pump went out of my ford 1500. Yesterday the 318 quit running on me?
It had been running a whie and dying but would start after it set awhile.
Spent the morning changing the coil and that did not help. SoI pulled the plugs annd they were bone dry.
Went to put them back in annd cross threaded a plug??
Soagrivated with thatI went over to my nephews and used his hydralic press to disassemble the old water pump for the ford. FOUND THE SHAFT AND IMPELLER BEYOND REBUILDIING..

talked to my brother abut the head for the Onan and he gave me the 20 hp he pulled from his 420 when he put the 23 hp Vanguard in. So now I get to change a head on the 318.
And it looks like I am buying a water pump foor the Ford.
I am nearly rehydrated so I will goo pull a head.

It's kinda sad that it almost sounds like a normal day around here, but then days like that usually come in waves, then things go smooth for a while.  Hoping tomorrow goes better for ya.

I don't want to sound unsympathetic but what makes me feel better is realizing I never had to hire someone to fix my problems. I had one of them days today....very little went well. I like to tell the younger folks.....at my age & with my experience I don't have problems just challenges. Hoping you have a great evening.

I call mine "challenging problems".   Well, I won't say what I actually call them at time of discovery, but you likely have an idea!  :bigrofl:

Well, I am not sure what to say , other than I have those days, maybe worse or maybe not. It happens to most of us who are into old things and have to many of them to be able to keep up with the problems with them. Just trying to keep all the tires from going flat. 10 tractors = 40 tires. I could go on and on. Any way , sorry to hear about your day. Things will get better. Do some else for a day or two , then pick the one that needs the most attention , and go at it. Noel
