Case 155 i just got it deliver to me.

I changed hydraulic oil and cleaned the screen which was clean. I used rotella 15-40 oil and filled to 2" below plug.  tractor will not move till shift lever is 3/4 forward same goes for reverse. tractor moves very slow forward/reverse in low range and will not drive forward up a little hill in yard. in high range same for shift lever 3/4 but it does go faster, but not like the case 222 that i have had in the pass.

now i don't know any history of 155 besides po brought it to use as a puller and just let it sit in barn for 2 yrs. my son pick it up from po and said po was mowing with it when he got there.

question i have is is there a test port under the valve control to hook up a pressure gauge and what would the pressure be.

also the ignition switch was a toggle switch which i brought a 2 post on/off switch and when i hook the 2 wire termials up to switch. the switch is backwards.

with key off the tractor is on--- key on the tractor shuts off.   i switch the wires on the post and same thing.

does anybody know where i can get a key switch. i know part number is c13985. but i cann't find anything else replaced by 23839 which as alot of post on it, and i only need 2.

any help

thanks

al

I have a case 155 here, I am going to watch this post as the hydraulic's on my machine seem a little week as well.  As for the ignition switch, I had to replace mine and I got a new one from tractor supply.  I think it was for an 8n but not sure, it had two wires on it but I took a soldering iron and removed the wires then drilled two holes.  Viola, looks just like the original and only cost $15.  Good luck

I am presently replacing my hydraulic drive motor (On my Case 190) because of lack of power issues.  Forward was week and reverse was some what stronger.  The pump has already been replaced along with fluid and cleaning.  I am hoping the hydraulic drive motor makes a big difference.  I have been told it does.  We will see....

I got mine off ebay from Metro Fluid Power (240$).  Most people get their motor from Motion Industries (300$).  Attached is a list of the correct motors for the early Case's.

Sounds like your hydro pump is real weak. I had an old 222 do the same thing. I replied the pump and now it's good to go.

I replaced the hydraulic motor and the 190 has more power forward and reverse is stronger.  I wouldn't say that the tractor is powerful.  12 hp in all.
