Anyone have any ideas on what to use to replace the screen that covers the flywheel on my MF 12? I cant find anything stiff enough to hold up to the constant spinning.

Check with your local sheet metal shop, they will probably have a small piece of perforated sheet metal you could buy for a couple of bucks.

Look for either a 10" or 8" speaker grille. The nice thing is the rubber edge and the curve inwards.

You can find a used screen at some of those sale sites, usaully they don't bring much. What engine do you have?

That pizza screen would look great, but way too big. I just measured the screen and the stock is 6.5" but you can go to 8" and keep it on the "ring" that is on the blower cover.

Here is one that measures 6-5/8" and almost a perfect fit: http://cgi.ebay.com/...5fAudioQ5fVideo

Yes, its a Tecumseh HH120. That would be great if you have what I am looking for. Thanks for all the great ideas guys. It helps to look in the most uncommon places to find the one thing that just might work!

That speaker grill idea is a good one,but I don't think it would last very long.I have even seen factory flywheel screens crack with fairly low hours on them.

Depnds on how good the grille is... the ones in my shop is thicker than my OE screen. If its centered well, it should never fail.
