I have an LT155.  The steering is very notchy and occasionally binds.  I got under the tractor and inspected the sector gear assembly (AM122732).  It looks fine - no broken or worn teeth.  Then I inspected the steering shaft (behind the battery).  It is sloppy and loose.  Does this sound like worn steering shaft bushings?  Does anyone have a detailed diagram or shop manual for the replacement instructions?

Thanks for your help.

Welcome to GTTalk. You need to inspect the entire steering linkage. The bushing is probably worn but you also need to inspect the rest of the steering gear to see if any damage has been done. If I remeber correctly that tractor uses a sector and pinion. Have a look at both gears to see if they are worn or have broken teeth.
