Is there a way to date it off the tag ? When did they go from red to white wheels ?

Rick the two are very interesting to compare, late 60's super GT and late 80's super GT. They are very different mannered machines.

I have 10+ Bolens and 10+ AC/Simplicities. The Bolens are heavy duty and tough but the ACs are nimble. Both types have many attachments. My Bolens 1250 is my favorite but the BIG TEN is a very close second. Good Luck, Rick

Rick I know what you mean. I have honestly been though probably 300 GT's since I started this madness in 93 with my Simplicity 700,which I still have. The comparison that is most obvious between the late 60's Bolens and the late 80's Simplicity is the amount of refinement in 20 years. I wouldn't particularly  want my wife running the 1250 but the the 20 year newer Simplicity is so mild mannered that she could easily run it without me worrying.

197-01 So its a 1967. How rare are 3 points, snow plows, and mower decks for the early large frames and what other large frames will the 1250 interchange those attachments with ?

This link is to the Large Frame Attachment guide.  It will tell you which attachments will work with the 1250.

It probably wouldn't hurt to get the 1250 Owners  and Parts manuals either :D :D :D
