Wednesday just as I was getting off work.  The wife called and said it was storming and hailing at home.  It was headed my direction.  When the storm got to me I was able to pull into a car wash and wait it out.  We had quarter sized hail for about two minutes.  Still haven't figured out if the wife was worried about me or her new car I was driving???  :D   Rick

Can you imagine being caught out in that on a motorcycle.  :(

My brother & his wife got caught a couple weeks ago by a hail storm while riding their bike.  Nowhere for them to get shelter on this particular parkway, as overpasses are few & miles & miles between.  And yes, they said it HURT, and the hail stones were only dime size.  Fortunately they always wear helmets.

The wife, daughter, and I were caught in this storm.  We had just got off the Pa Turnpike a few minutes before at the Pottstown/West Chester exit and were headed south on Route 100.  Luckily when it started to hail we were the first vehicle in line at a redlight and when it turned green we drove about a half mile up the road and took shelter under an overpass and waited out the storm for about 15 minutes.  It was the craziest weather I have ever seen.  I had my hand on the windshield praying that it didn't break till we got to the overpass.  I managed to snap a picture with my phone after we started rolling again.  The leaves all over the truck came off of trees on the side of the road while we were sheltering the storm out.

There was also considerable damage closer to here at home as well.

Youtube video from the Danville Pa area which is about 10 miles from home.

Very glad everyone was OK.
If I see hail that bad, the first thing I think of is a tornado.

That hail you are holding is huge.  Just imagine if you got hit with some of those.

Roofing crew of four men showed up around 1:30 today, nearly done stripping & roofing the house by 5!   The gutter crew should be here in a couple weeks, same company.  The company owners are cousins who I grew up with their parents.  ~~  Lowell
