I have one of those, just a couple years newer. Great cutting and trimming tractor. A little hard to steer, but they turn very sharp for the trimming. Good on fuel, but about the same as other tractors. Noel.

Oh, and welcome to the site, lots of good information and people here!!

Hey PP1, thanks. Is yours hydro?

Mine doesn't have a deck but did come with a plow.

B&S twin runs great and the hydro works well but one odd thing is the speed selector handle flops down. Seems like a spring missing but I can't find it on the manual. Any idea what keeps the handle up?

Here's a better shot of the handle.

What keeps it in the teeth on the dash?

It's a cruse control. I never used mine so I am not much help. Mine is hydro with foot pedal control and has a kohler engine. Noel

Old topic, but there should be a spring (pulling the lever to the right) which keeps the speed lever in place. If yours doesn't stay perhaps it's missing the spring or it's lost its stiffness. Mine works but on large bumps sometimes it gets knocked out of cruise control
