Hi experts,

I have a Broadmoor simplicity 6116 from 1979 or 1980. It was in really bad shape when I bought it, but now at least the engine is running. The problem now is that it is very slow even if I push the engine to it's maximum. For some reason it goes faster in reverse than forward. The belt going from the engine to the rear looks ok. Any ideas what it could be?

Thanks!

Adam

Welcome to GTTalk Adam. I'm not familiar with that tractor. Is it a hydrostatic drive? If so, then your linkage for speed control may be out of adjustment. Have a look in our manuals section to see if there is any information that may help. I'm sure eventually some Simplicity experts will be along with more information.

Hi Brian, Thanks for your repy!

The machine has a belt going from the 16 hp briggs & stratton engine to the rear axle where there is a gear box. the cluch is a siple bearing tensioning the belt. I looked at some drawings of the gar box in the  manual, but didn't really understand more. Is it possible to buy spare for this machine still?

Thanks!

Adam
