I suppose I deserve all that for not being more specific.  I am going to put my evaporator on one side and my cider mill on the other, figured I can use the same building for two different purposes, as I do syrup in the spring and hope to do the cider this fall for the first time.

If you do cider, please start a thread on that. I have never seen it done, or been involved with it, and would love to know more about it.

Cat I will certainly do that, the cider mill I have is from the very early 1900's and I have to do some repair to it.  I hope to get it ready for this fall.   I will keep this thread going.

Got to get it where you can and when you can, sugar that is .  I am on the lookout for a hit and miss engine to power the apple grinder, it needs to be around 2hp or a little better and close enough so I can get it.

Let's make it unanimous.  I like using the old wood along side the new.

Got more work done over the last week, got a killer deal on the shingle's. Curtis had them on sale $15 a bundle on 30 year slate looking asphalt.  got 10 bundles with the ridge caps for under $200.  Hopefully I can scrap the truck this week and get the rest of the stuff for the roof,  The I can call my brother in law, he is a roofer and will do the work for cheap

This may seem like a silly question but what is a sugar house? Whatever it is you're off to a good start.

I was waiting for someone to ask that so I didn't have to lol

That is what I was thinking Will, but you explained it a whole lot better than I would have. I was like Brian and Al and figured if I waited, the mystery would be explained.

I'm sorry, but this made me laugh a little.  Being a native Vermonter I have been raised to appreciate the sugaring industry.  Many family members and friends have their own "sugar houses" (as they are called here) and make their own syrup.  Naturally, I can only eat real maple syrup.  No tolerance for that Aunt Jemima stuff.
