Finally go around to starting my new sugar house, my brother in law came out sat and we worked on it for a few hours.  got the blocks in place and the floor done, now I need to spend more money on nails for the gun.  hopefully I can get it framed up next weekend.

Most of the lumber to build this is re-claimed from a barn I tore down a few years ago.

This may seem like a silly question but what is a sugar house? Whatever it is you're off to a good start.

Maybe it's what's called a Sugar Shack in this neck of the woods.

It houses your evaporator for boiling off maple sap, to make maple syrup.

That is what I was thinking Will, but you explained it a whole lot better than I would have. I was like Brian and Al and figured if I waited, the mystery would be explained.

I thought it was for hiding his sweet new GTs.

The other possibility was that it was for his honey/SO to use for some reason non-GT, non-syrup related.

I was thinking the same thing Will.  They are sugar shacks here.  Some other places in NY might call them sugar houses.

One part of the state calls it pop and one part calls it soda.

Ok HAHAHA, It will be for my maple syrup evaporator so I don't have to boil sap out in the rain.  I suppose I deserve all that for not being more specific.  I am going to put my evaporator on one side and my cider mill on the other, figured I can use the same building for two different purposes, as I do syrup in the spring and hope to do the cider this fall for the first time.

:bigrofl: :bigrofl:     I suppose it is a matter of opinion, or maybe it is a sugar house when you boil sap in there and becomes a sugar shack when you corner the wife in there and have your way with her.  Both of which I have every intention of doing when it gets done!!!!! :bigrofl: :bigrofl:
