It's May 16th, the lilacs are blooming, and it's snowing!!! Great big clumpy flakes falling straight down.

We have been getting rain just about every four days here. Farmers are starting to panic, as the ground don't dry out enough to get anything planted. It's the middle of May, and I have yet to see corn being planted. A couple of the area Amish farmers have corn planted, but the mules looked like they were ready to die at any given time. Vegetable prices will be sky-hi this year if things don't change soon.

As much as I like to complain about the weather here in the northeast, we don't have hurricanes, tornadoes, major flooding, fires or any of that crazy stuff.  I personally like the snow and cold, the changing seasons makes me feel good, keeps things in perspective.  To all those experiencing extreme weather my thought are with you, As for your snow you can keep it, it has been in the 70's here most of the week and I am glad summer is finally here.

We are supposed to be back down in the upper 30s this weekend

Some places just north of me are supposed to be down to 24 tonight.  I went out to drain the water lines on the camper and set the furnace to come on at 40*.  Rather burn a tank of propane that blow a water line in the wall.

It got down to 36 Thursday night out here in Portland IN swap. Haven't heard the low last night but it is 42 this AM. We haven't had any snow though. Good nights to camp out, especially when I left the heater at the house.
