We did pull the deck off it and got the deck belt off. It was rusted to the spindles so they may not be as bad as I thought. I have other things I am working on at the moment, so no progress here. Maybe some today!

That looks so Cub Cadet! Thanks for the pics!

Alan, checked the deck today and the 2 outside spindles are still frozen up. Not good at all!

I'll check the spindles on my old deck.  My deck is shot to heck from rust, but I've not checked the spindles.  Likely they are stuck though.

Yeah the Cub I'm redoing was the only thing I had to lay it on to take the pic. If  you look you can see pieces of the 416 the muffler belongs to in the pic,lol

I should also tell you the 16 HP muffler is NLA. I got this one from a guy in CT that had welded on the larger inlet pipe to a 12 hp muffler. As far as I know that is the only difference between hp muffler and the 16 hp one

Thanks Daniel! All I could think of would be to hang them in the E-Tank for a couple weeks!

I was thinking of getting a Cub muffler before I saw your pics. That looks the same as what is on my Cub 108!

It is made just like the original muffler that came off the 416. It took me a couple of months to find it but it fit perfect. Now the big thing is to get it all back together after three years and burn some more paint off the muffler :rocker2:

IT LIVES!!!!! Got her fired off and drove it around, found 3 of the 4 gears. The other may show after things loosen up a bit. I need to check oil level in the gearboxes. Time to read the manual some more!

After getting the tractor running, We tackled the deck to see if we could free up the spindles. Got them to rotate, but they will need rebuilt/replaced. Anyone have info about them?

Anybody have a clue how these spindles come apart? Do I need to use the Gas axe and cut them apart?

Finally found a parts listing for the deck. Looks like you take the top nut off, get the pulleys off, and take the spindle shaft out the bottom. This may be fun to do! Here's some pics of the deck.

Messed with the Allis some more over the weekend. Put the new throttle assy in. I got it from Doc (Bolens 1000). Works great. Bad news is the plastic fuel tank is leaking. Will have to pull it back out and see if we can use the plastic welder on it.

This engine has a fuel pump on it. But it has the hand lever also. Anybody know where to get a rebuild kit for it? Fuel pump part # is A-235807.
