update on the stump

it is getting soft so I can break out side pieces off with a spade now ...thinking a couple more weeks or less and the stump will be  soft enough to either dig out or break apart.

Well waited long enough

took the Stihl and cut the stump down about 6-8" below the ground filled with dirt and seeded back down, probably would not recommend putting fertilizer on a stump for fast breakdown.

I have driled them, soaked them with oil or gas and lit them on fire. If that works (not always) I have seen roots a few feet deep still smoking a couple weeks later....

other than that I have dug them out and used my truck or Jeep and a chain...

or I have rented a gas powered stump grinder.

never have tried any other chemicals in an attempt to "rot" them out.
