Hello...and thanks for your attention.  The bearings are getting worn out in the gearbox on the mower deck. Ive been messing with it all day and cant seem to figure out how to remove them.  Its a K321S 14HP Kohler. older model...tag with model number is torn off so cant identify it specifically. It has 3 blades..the center one being driven by pto.

You are going to need either a blind bearing puller or a good press.  It depends on the configuration of the spindle.

I'd pull it off and see if a good lawn and garden shop or machine shop can fix it for you.  It may be the easiest route.

Could you unbolt the gearbox from the mower deck?  It will much easier to handle that way.

Does this look like the same mower deck?

Welcome to GTT. Take alittle time with our Galleries to see if there is a tractor that looks like yours. That may give you the identity, Post some big pics in the thread for us to better see what you have. Then you can find a manual and figure out what to do. There may be a way to clean and tighten up the bearings. Good Luck, Rick

Here is what you're dealing with, I believe: (click on the diagram to enlarge it)

Ariens Mower Gearbox.jpg

When you say the bearings are going, are they making noise? Or is there play (wobble) in the shaft?
