I have been looking for a better way to cold smoke cheese and bacon.
I found this old icebox, I plan to mount a fan on the outside to blow air inside, and buy an A-MAZE-N pellet smoker to go inside. I will probably mount some eye rings in the top to hang bacon and sausage from.
It has 2 racks already and places to mount 4. I'll have to drill a hole in the top to let the smoke out. But I think this will work. It still has the brass tag on it. I will clean this up and paint it white.

I am hoping with this kitchen remodel, I have enough money let yo build an outdoor kitchen.

You don't often see ice boxes like that these days. Should do the job for you just fine.

After a bit of research and looking real close at the tag, this is an "Iceway Deluxe Steel" model manufactured by Leonard Refrigeration Co. of Grand Rapids MI. Most of these that I can find are made from Oak. The really nice Oak models sell for as high as $650. This one is in bad shape. The lining is porcelain and the lining on the door for the block of ice is missing. It has numerous dents and dings, the base is bent a little, 2 racks are missing, and the top is about to fall off. I plan to block off the other 2 compartments and just use the tall one. The others will be storage.
