cause it was just hailing! Haven't seen anything like this for many years around here. And to top it off the fire dept spotted a tornado on the ground 4 miles north of town, I'm 3 miles north of town! That's a little to close for comfort. The dang weather radio didn't even say anything about it til almost 5 min after the fact. Anyways the nasty stuff is pasted and as far as I know no damage to anything or anyone which is a very good thing! Here's a few pics, there is a quarter by the hail in one pic.

Nate, is that the same string that touched down from St. James to your side of Madelia earlier?

Hail is one thing I hate.  It scares me to death.  A friend of a friend of mine was almost killed out in a field when he was trying to get back before a storm and the tricycle tractor he was operating caught a ground hog hole.  The front end popped off and he had to walk.  Then it started to hail.  It was about like you had, 1/2 dollar size, and he was bruised all over from it.

Ever since I heard that story, I have been scared of hail.

No it came from another cell that popped up.

That was almost me Ben. The wind picked up outside so I went out to investigate because nothing was on the weather radio. Watching the clouds do some funky stuff I turned around and seen a white wall of something coming across the field, then ran back to the house just in time to miss getting hit.

Going to have to give the insurance man a call tomorrow to get a claim started for the house and cars. Siding got some holes and cracks now and chunks of shingles on the ground. Hopefully we don't get a lot more rain until I can get up on the roof to patch any bad spots if any.

Man, that's some serious hail! When I saw the title I thought you were talking about frost. We have been getting frost every day this week but I'll take it over hail like that.
