Hi!

I am new to this forum.

Does anyone know where I can find a new or used gear box for model number 536 292522.  I've had this cultivator for 10 + years and don't want to part with it.

It appears that Sears still sells the transmission and tines for that unit.

They are pretty proud of it, but at least it's available.

As for used ones, check with the site sponsors and ebay and Craigslist. Maybe even put in an ad for a non running one in craigslist and the local paper.

I would be a little wary of a used one as many of the google hits with that model number are "Tines don't turn" comments
I did see a reference to a 56159ma part number... Do your research on that, I didnt check.

I think I have that same cultivator. Mine locked up too, ended up my sister got a rock lodged up under the tines and cover where you couldn't see it. I took it all apart, got rock out, and still runs fine.

Didn't realize so many people had issues with gear box, maybe I should check fluid in mine.
