Need Help With D160

hi all, got my first wheel horse d series today, a d160, it needs some loving though, i will post pics tomorrow, heres the problem, the hyd relief valve, where is it so i can safely push this tractor? is it above the brake pedel in the larger hole ? this has a shaft with a screwdriver slot in it, is that it? if so i need more help as it will not budge, sprayed some penetrating oil on it, hopefully it will move tomorrow or am i looking at the wrong spot, what else can i do? thanks john

John, It's on the side of the tunnel cover right as you are describing. It does turn with a big slotted screw driver. If I remember right, you only turn it 1/4 turn.

It always amazes me that there is someone here who knows all the details of just about any model. Congrats on the new D160!

I have put the screw driver in there and given it a couple of good hits with a hammer to help lossen up the threads before.

augghhhhh!!!! its not moving. tab on screwdriver slot broke off, now what? a little heat? more penetrating oil ? or bang my head repeatedly on it?

Its been a while, I think you can take off the side plate pretty easy. That will give you access to the valve, you should then be able to put a pair of vice grips on it. I wouldnt heat it up yet.

 

Ps. DOnt worry if you bugger up the screwdriver end, I got a spare if you need it.
