I just bought a B-212 this past Saturday and it needs a new plunger. They sell for about $35. Does anybody know a way to get around having to buy a new plunger. Any repair options for the old one? Any help would be appreciated.

What is the plunger for? The points? Have you tried looking on ebay to see what's for sale, there is always some one parting out a tractor on there.

Yeah I checked but I couldn't find anything. I found one for $25 but I will keep looking to see if I can find one cheaper.

Got it running by putting a little JB Weld on the plunger and now she runs like a champ. Now I want to get an exhaust stack to put on it.

New video for it. Sound quality is not the best but visually it's better than my first one.

Good job on repairing the plunger.

If it ever gives you problems in the future you might want to consider replacing the points, condenser and plunger with a NOVA II electronic ignition module.  They're about $15 and easy to install.

Many have made the conversion on their engines successfully.  I did mine and it works great.

I was thinking about that but I decided to just keep it original.

I personally would just spend the 35 dollars or whatever and have a original tractor and not worry about having to look and waist the time not riding the allis around
