I was disassembling a 212 today and noticed a linkage that went from the lift area underneath to the front of the tractor on the opposite side of the belt tension-er. Has a single bolt pivoting peace of flat steel on the front. Any idea what this is for?

Snowblower/front blade lift. It is referred to as the 'front lift kit'. Sells for about $75 used on Ebay in the fall, typically.

Got mine new off the shelf at my local JD dealer for $29 in 2009. At that time, there was 90 new ones left in stock nationwide. 25 of which were in Atlanta, for some odd reason. Not bad for a machine last built in 1987.

If the engine has a second (outer) pulley on the engine on the right side, it had a snowblower on it at one time.

One of these:

Goes on right here:

Thats It!  Had no idea I would need that to install a snow blower. I've had a blade on my 212 several years ago but can't remember how it hooks up now.  Thank you.
