I am so aggravated!  Got new fuel lines, primer bulb & filter for this trimmer & still wouldn't start.  Took carb apart & check valve flaps were stuck tight. Got them unstuck, but they are pretty stiff.  I do have her running, but has to have choke 1/2 closed.  Runs with plenty of power when I get the choke set right.  Here comes the really aggravating part......I cannot find a carb kit for this carb.  ALL that I can find is a brand new complete carb at over $40, part #753-1225.  Heck, this will be almost 1/3 the price of a brand new trimmer!  If anyone knows where I might land a kit, please let me know.   :wallbanging:

For now I'll just run it with the choke.

My carb kit of course hasn't gotten here yet, but I trimmed tonight, and she fired right up!  Still have to run 1/2 to 3/4 choke, but she has the power just as she should.  I know it'll run better even with the kit, but at least I can use it.  That darned "spring assist" recoil system has got to go though.  Most times you're lucky if it brings it to a single compression stroke.  If it's not in a good mood to fire off the 1st or 2nd pull, then it can be a battle, so.........

I am going to disable the darned thing.  I'll coil the assist spring up tight, put in a screw to hold it there, then fill the assist spring area with fiberglass resin.  I would have already done it the other day, but the hardener dried out (as usual), and I haven't been to town to get more.

Put the kit in, and it's much improved, and will run pretty proper without choke.  It sometimes seems to be a bit lean, but recovers.  That's what I hate about new stuff....no hi-lo adjustment screws.  Really, it makes emissions worse in my opinion, because they must be ran in a not so good mixture many times.

Picked up some resin hardener so I can lock up that stupid spring assist starting.  Starting should be MUCH easier once I can actually get the engine to spin well with the pull rope.
