If your a Mac or iPhone user, you've got   iCloud ,  I and several

friends & family have had it several years now, very easy to use

and never a problem or virus, plus It's free.  "I sound like a commercial".

I use Thunderbird mail and it works great.

My version isn't web based, but there may be such a version....I'm not sure.  But when I'm away from home, I can check my mail from my internet provider's mail handler.

It is an email client, Mozillia creates it.  Nice thing about it is it's multiplaform.  You see it in Linux Distro's a lot.
