Ss14 Muffler

Hey guys have a SS14 what muffler did they use factory are there any to be found /????

This is the muffler setup mine came with.  It's not entirely original from what I can tell, and also is not entirely optimal because it soots up the front grill frame as you can see.  But I do think the muffler itself is correct.

I believe the OEM engine/muffler combo used the one that TX_Dj pictured, but the exhaust port was on the side of the engine.
I've seen two different versions of that canister. One with pipe threads and one with ears, like this.

Not the best pic, but this is the stock setup on a SS15 which was same on the 14's. I think the muffler was long way so the exit pipe was basically down on the side.

Alan, that picture looks to be a Tecumseh OH16 exhaust?

Yep, right you are. I was talking about the flange and not looking at the muffler. :wallbanging:
The one for the ss14 was shorter and not round.

Werent the 14's with the exhaust port out the side and the 15's forward?

maybe that extra 1 hp needed more muffler to handle the flow :rolling:  :rolling:

 

Not sure about orientation, sold the 15 before I got into it, this is only pic i have
