I think it would be handy to have a foot throttle besides the hand friction throttle when using the 2418 with the loader . Has anyone made up a setup for their tractors or ideas ? Thanks , Al

My Massey 1010 diesel has factory foot throttle. I've never added one though. With hydrostatic drive, there is little need for one, but with straight trans, it would be a plus for controlling speed.

Sounds like a good idea, I'd have to look at the pedal set up on my 2414 and scratch my head a bit, as I'm not sure how you would mount it to clear clutch or brakes....

I was thinking it could be mounted where your right heal goes , like the differential lock on some tractors but that might be hard to control .

This is simple on the diesel. Just a 1/4" round rod bent to form a simple pedal. On a gasoline engine, you'd really want to retain the hand throttle, so the foot throttle needs to be set up as an over-ride, so that when you let off the foot throttle, the engine returns to the pre-set hand controlled setting. That is the more complicated part, as I don't think you'd want to do away with the OE setup.

I looked at my tractor this afternoon and was trying to figure when to mount the pedal and now after seeing your MF1010 foot throttle pictures right by the brakes would be the best spot on mine too. I might be able to mount small lever near the front of the brake pedals ,mine pivot from the bottom and it has a parking brake that pushes on them to keep them applied . Working around that will be the biggest problem . Thanks, Al

Made the foot throttle yesterday , took a lot longer then I thought it would , lot of figuring to get both hand throttle and foot throttle working correctly. Used a section of the RH brake pedal for the throttle pivot. Few things might need to changed , the return spring for the pedal is too stiff and the curve on the pedal can be straighter. 0122111931.jpg

ALL of my little jobs take longer than they should, you're in good company there.

Few things might need to changed , the return spring for the pedal is too stiff and the curve on the pedal can be straighter.

Part of the Fabrication process is minor corrections, isn't it?

Looks good. Better yet, it's functional!

Got the first real test plowing snow last night , it makes plowing so much easier ,no more trying to use the hand throttle back and forth every time you would back up ( gear trans and clutch ) should have done it 15+ years ago.
