Hey guys.  Im back with another tractor...  new issues.  I got this thing from a buddy.  It was sitting behind his garage when he moved it and he just wanted it gone.  It has 2 flat tires (alil goo and air should fix them right up).  and is missing the hood...  and one mowing spindle.   It also wouldn't start.  I pulled the carb off and popped off the bowl.  It was solid with goop.  After I cleaned that up and soaked the carb in some cleaner, it looks brand new.  But i still couldn't get the main jet out, it was stripped.  After some drilling and an extractor, it came out...  looking like the rest of the carb (pictured below)  I'm not worried about finding a hood, I will just build something that looks decent... but I need to get it running first.  I looked around on briggs site but there are 3 different "emulsion" / "main jet" options with no info on which is which.  So i come to you to ask, what do i need?!  Also, does anyone know where i can get a CHEAP spindle?  I don't know of any where local (west michigan) that has a mower junkyard.

Thanks for your time gentlemen.

Raley

If I knew your carburetor number (assuming Walbro LMT series) it would tell you what you need.  The number follows the LMT cast or stamped into the carburetor "somewhere."

Welcome to GTtalk.  It could be either a Nikki or a Walbro it should say on the Carburetor.

You can get cheap aftermarket spindles off Evilbay for like $25 shipped. I have one in my craftsman and has held up for 2 years now.

Oh, and you will snap the bolts if you are removing an old one.

The old one isn't there, so no bolts to snap (good or bad)   Thats why i was looking at the used one, that way I could get the pulley needed too.  The problem here is that Im not really sure what parts i need since its missing.  Or what part numbers it was since every diagram I have seen show multiple different numbers for everything!
