Uh. oh.  Do you mean me?

No, two other people had it in the couple of months between you and I, I thought the guy that bought it from me was preparing to fix it.

Hmm, interesting.  It may have never gotten fixed.  There is a noticeable grinding/dragging/bad sound that you can hear when shutting the tractor down...  I'll have to look into that.

So after many hours of trying to find the right splined shaft, with no luck what so ever!  I gave up and decided that the best course of action was to cut the bent one up and rebuild with heavier tubing.  I may have gone overboard with .25 wall DOM (1.5o.d.-1.0i.d) but I figured it would never bend again!  I ground the welds on the old shaft and pulled the splined ends out, then took them to my buddy's shop so he could turn them down on the lathe to 1.0"  Then we pressed them into the new shaft and TIG welded them on (Thanks Dave!) after I got it home I replaced the bearing at the back and both belts no more " I should have replaced that while it was out"!  Got her all put back together and it works like a charm!  When I do the next one for another 1655 that I have I will use smaller tubing, probably .125" wall DOM.  The clearance to the top of the rear end is tight and my rub a bit under operation, we shall see.
