The L63 is right for this series engine

You will be looking for a Wisconsin LQ33 or LQ39 Carb kit (Difference between the two is the LQ33 used a spring type needle and seat and the LQ39 used a solid one)

Thanks. How can I determine if I need the LQ33 or LQ39?

Or is there a universal kit?

It really dosen't matter which one you choose as the kits come with the needle and seat.

To check which one you have open the carb and if your needle is solid it was a LQ39 and if it has a spring on the end it was a LQ33

The genuine wisconsin is still available as well as aftermarkets. I think I have a few here on the shelf :D

:ditto:

The TR10D was actually rated at 8.25HP and the TRA10D was something like 10.1HP if I remember correctly.

The engines are basically identical except for the connecting Rods.

:ditto:  Except for the different cranks.  The TR10D has a shorter stroke, which is why it requires a longer con rod.

Is that the original muffler elbow?

If it is then its the same one used on many Bolens! I thought that was a Bolens only part but I guess I was wrong!

Looks like it had the KD 540 teardrop light. You can even see the faint discolouration in the paint.

Did I see in one of your threads, that you just got one of those somewhere?

Yes, I bought a KD540 off ebay.  Around $32 with delivery.  Turned out to be NOS...never mounted!

Shawn, yours probably spent a day, way back then, looking at mine as they

went down the production line together. Maybe they can meet up again at

Dan's Bush Hog reunion. :smilewink:

I had some 26 x 12 x 12 Duro's on JD rims sitting around, so I thought I'd see if they'd fit.

Just barely, but they do. I like the look. I guess they're new shoes now. Might have to get

some big Vredsteins for the front.

So, you NEVER mounted it, because it's NOS?

That wouldn't bother me.

How'd you like to make 10% on your investment?

You can't get that in the banks.
