Me:   Thanks but my shuttle and torque converter work just fine.I am really just interested in a transmission at this time

Parts man:   Sorry, I misunderstood what you were looking for.  Are you looking for the 4 speed box directly in front of the rear end?

Me:   Yes the complete 4 speed.Looking for used as this old hoe is not worth a new or rebulit one.

Parts man:   We have a reman 4 speed transmission available for $2,775.00, plus a refundable deposit of $800.00.  Same core conditions as the shuttle.  Unfortunately, I do not have anything used at this time

Whew, good luck finding a less expensive option.
I'm sure you can't find a replacement unit for less than that, so it's probably worth it. Be nice to find a good used one tho...

I thought it was comical when they gave me a quote for for a shuttle and converter when I stated and sent a picture of my broken transmission.Of course the smile left my face when I read the price quote.

There were very few of these hoes made and it needs other work so it will likely get scrapped.Be nice to use something that you don't need to dump 5 gal of hyd oil in every time you need to use it.Brakes would also be nice. They use brakes for a 5000 lb machine on a 19,000 lb machine.

Might try these folks. I always end up with whiplash when drive by the place.
Nothing he has is free, but they might be sitting on a used one.

I have been past that place several times and had the chance to stop in for a visit but it was around 4:00 and they were closed.I bet there are folks who went in there and have never been seen or heard from again.

I have been there a few times and it's always interesting to walk through the whole place. There is a ton of stuff hidden in the weeds and in old sheds, every time you go you'll see something else.

Also it seems that the machine you need parts for all had a similar weakness. This one just came up for sale near me with a similar problem. http://pittsburgh.cr...4441811286.html

I have been trying to get a hold of the owner with no success. He is a little vague on what exactly is wrong.I thought I might purchase the transmission and a few other parts providing they are good if a person were going to buy it to scrap it.
