The wife bought an old trteadle sewing machine.    Sooooo.....       I bought another old G.T.     Wasn't sure about exaactly what i bought until I cruised the net.    It's a Sears/David Bradley Suburban Riding Tractor.   At least that is what the Sears web site said.   It was a track down a rumor   "in some guys barn"   deal.   It going to need a lot of attention and TLC.    OH by the way the sewing machine is an old

"New Home" model.      Rick

Is the tractor supposed to have a hood? Same as the famous DB 2 wheel hood?

Tell the wife she got a nice sewing machine!

That DB is an early model, has the turning brakes and reverse pulleys, you scored on those two. Took me over a year to find the reverse pulleys for mine.

I didn't know a DB rider could use a Wisconsin. It looks like an ACN/BKN to me.

I have no idea was is supposed to be on that tractor.  Big brother has an old monkey wards 5 h.p.  he wants me to put on it.

For now it will have to sit for a while.     Rick

Turns out that mama's "new" machine is a 1906 New Home Parlor Model.   The only thing wrong is that it had the wrong needle in it.

It is in museum quality condition.  So the wife is reluctant to use it.   Being the nice guy that i am :D .  I bought her another newer machine.  A 1914 Singer.   Cleaned it oiled it and she is using it.

NOW I GET TO FIND ANOTHER G.T. :dancingbanana:       Rick

Very nice!!!!!  I do like those old sewing machines, they seem to work better than the new ones.  I am on the lookout now for one for the wife, I spent all winter re-modeling our front porch into a sewing room for the wife and now she needs a nice machine to use.

                                                                                                                                                                Pete

PS -  If I keep her happy she does not complain to much about new toys out back.
