Just saw this on Yahoo that Jeep is now going to be built in China.  You can read the details here.

They're just doing what GM and Ford have been doing for decades.

I hate to see them built in China but if I'm reading the story right the models to be built there are to be sold there,at least for now they're not headed here.

Would you rather it was made in India? You know us old codgers like everything to be like it was. But things change and we have to adapt.

It is a global market now, like it or not.  I really never liked the Fiat Jeep deal though.

As far as I'm concerned, the Jeep brand has gone down hill consistently since Chrysler took over.

the wifes 96 TJ was a piece of junk, and her new special order 2014 Wrangler doesn't look to be much better.

If you didn't like the last one, why did you buy another?

We own a '05 Jeep Liberty..... quality can't get much worse going to China than it already is.

I read last year like pigsitter mentioned they would only be sold in China. I've had a 99 Grand Cherokee since 2000...one of the best vehicles I've owned.

Yep, they're number 1 and 2 in US market share as of March, 2014.

I didn't buy them, she did' Her money is hers to do with as she wishes, she works very hard to earn it, she deserves to spend it.

It took her 12 years to get her degree, and she worked the whole time.

Sounds like us. We have owned 3 Jeeps, the '80 CJ was a blast, but due to  cancer and kids, it had to go.

The '94 Cherokee started with engine noise at 65K.

The '05 Libby, well, just a piece of junk from the start.

Wifey drives them, she picks them, I just get the "privilege" of working on them.....regularly

She hated her 09 Lib, I didn't mind it as much since it was a lot more comfortable for me. It was a piece of junk though.

I just wish some new car manufacturer could make a comfortable seat. Every newer one I have ridden in was like sitting on plywood covered in vinyl.
