I make a side trip on the way home to pick up an attachment?

If so, I'll be off on a road rip to Chicago to pick up an attachment that I wasn't actively looking for, but is something I can't pass up.

Hint: It's for the tube frames, and would be considered rare.  Also, it should fit in the basement storage of the motorhome.

No confirmation as to what it is until I've picked it up and can post pics.

I'm currently in Cincinnati, visiting with the boys for a couple of days, so going home via Chicago will be a big detour, but the attachment is worth it :D :D :D

Road and trip  were two seperate entities 50 years ago . So I heard . Taking a detour is a trip if you get lost . Ask Gilligan - no we can't.

       Enjoy your road travel .

Not to worry Littledeere, I'll be seeing you on the next road trip

That may not be too far into the future though.  It all depends on when Ben gets the Forklift finished.

This one kind of dropped out of the sky, so to speak.

On night I was a bit bored, and was cruising around CL, and on 3/23 found a guy selling a package deal. It was priced too high, but I was interested in the one attachment.  All he had was the CL email for a contact so I send one off asking if he would just sell me the one attachment. I did give my cell number, as it's a lot easier to talk than email back and forth.

Well, a day or three passed, and I didn't hear from him, so I figured that either he was ignoring me, or like so many people, the email went to his spam folder, and he hadn't seen it.

About a week after that the CL ad had gone away, and I figured that it had been sold, and that I had lost out on the chance to get the attachment.  Well, imagine how shocked I was when I got a phone call from a strange number, only to find out that it was the guy with the package, and that I had been right about my email being in his spam folder.

We talked a bit, and he said that he was reluctant to split up the pkg, and offered it to me a lower price.  I told him that I really didn't need another tractor, or any of the attachments other than the one I asked about. We ended the call with me giving him a firm offer on the attachment, and with him saying that he'd think about it and let me know.

Well, time passed, and I had heard nothing, so once again, I figured that it was sold.

But, last night I got an email with the electrifying news that he hadn't found a buyer for the pkg deal, and  asked if I was still interested in the attachment. He also left me his phone number.

Well, now, we all l know what my answer to that question was going to be.  I immediately replied that I was, and that he could consider it sold.

I'll be talking to him some time today, to firm everything up, and make plans to pick it up.

Note, there are hints in the above as to what the attachment is :D :D :D

That would be it.

Tractor was a 1220 that had been re-engined, and was just too high priced.
