I wonder if anyone ever thought about Having your restored antique or classic garden tractor in a movie. I mean somone had to supply forrest gump with his snapper right? This may be a good idea if we pull are resources and maybe contact a movie director I would like to see more tractors in movies. I mean most movies these days are re makes of old movies just with new age stars Anyone agree

I'm not sure how you get into it, but I know a couple of people who have had vehicles in movies. In both cases the production company approached them though. Both said their car/truck came back in better shape than they went out in, so it seems like a pretty good deal.

I had my house scouted once, for the Truman Capote movie, but nothing came of it. They scouted every old house in the area, then shot it someplace else. The guy down the road from me had his house used in the movie "Goon" (not released yet). Same thing though, it was the production company approaching him, not the other way around.

This makes me wonder what movies have used garden tractors in them. If you know of one post it with the make/model and time in the movie if you know it!

Years ago, a guy bought an old fridge from my Dad... it ended up he worked for a prop company for Hollywood.
I'll bet they buy up & then sell/junk/store any of the old GT's they need.
Might be worth asking a question or two tho, just don't let it be in a stinker.
We'd never let you live it down. :laughingteeth: Just kidding.

I think it depends on where, what, and when. They shoot a fair number of movies in Winnipeg (it'll be fewer now that the CDN $ is up though), but not as many as in Vancouver or Toronto and it's not enough to support a lot of large, full-time prop houses. There are a couple of places, but they don't handle anything bigger than a fridge. I've heard of prop houses in Vancouver and Toronto that keep a lot of bigger stuff though, and I'm sure there's places in Hollywood that have entire fleets of cars.

On Claasic Trsctor Fever the other day, they had the guy who supplied the 4020Jd. to the movie..Bridges of Madison County.
Meril Streep drove up to the house and heard phone ringing over the engine, jumped off and ran to answer it, Clint eastwood was calling.

The guy who supplied it was a local farmer living in the town they were filming in.

I dident see that cub cadet i may have to look up the picture. I bet if we all thought hard enough we could name several movies that stared garden tractors like the famous strait storey! it was based on a true storey too.

I know there's a Wheel Horse in "Follow That Bird," a Sesame Street movie I and the kid like to watch. The Dodo family owns one.
