Spent my time off this week doing my annual 'Move the Driveway gravel back into the Driveway' task..  It's mostly down except the pile my wife showed along with the retaining wall on my parking area along with the top railroad ties..  Lots of fun there still..  yea!!

Luckily my neighbor has a lawn roller I borrow every year (I have fixed it up as well) and I rolled the lawn yesterday with it..  There's a bigger one behind it and I got to thinking..  Can my $100 JD 425 pull that big one?  What the heck..  I'll try anything once!

So I hooked the thing up and took it for a spin to see how it would handle that biggun..

I re-rolled my front lawn and it did well thanks to the differential lock in a few spots..  Other than that it was smooth sailing..

I tried a few of the hills in my back yard and the roller was driving the tractor a bit so the hills were out of the question..  So I finished what I could on my lawn and then did the neighbor's lawn out back..  Then I did the owner's 4 acre lawn..

Lot's of seat time today!!    :bounce:  :peace:

Here's a picture of the big roller with the 425..

And here's the roller-Inspector-General Chet checking things out:

Thanks for the pics, it's good to be out in the yard!

My sweepster will go on this weekend, de-thatch next weekend. My neighbor has his JD 322 with the front mount dethatcher and the 519 collection system going right now.

That's quite a roller, glad you got some seat time that's not snow related.

That looks like a nice pairing.

The roller looks like it would do a great job.

To join the fun, got my 318 out earlier this week, had to pump up the left front tire (as usual). Just used the tractor to pull my trailor with tools, etc for working on my deck stairs.

Ground is still to wet from snow melt to use my pull-behind sweeper to sweep up the neighbor's leaves blown on my lawn (I have all evergreen trees).

But was fun to drive it the first time since probably December last year.
