I bought this HT23 about a month ago, it was running several years ago then it was parked due to a broken belt.

Anyway, I stuck a battery in it and tried to turn it over, the starter spins and the gear engages, once the gear is engaged the starter keeps spinning and the gear stops.

I'm guessing something is broke in the starter?

Do I half to pull the engine completely out???
I got all of the bolts out that hold down the engine and I rocked it sideways but I don't think it's enough.

I got one starter bolt out, but I can't find any others, is it just the one bolt or is there another bolt that I am not seeing???

Any ideas would be great,

Thanks for any info

Started scraping more gunk and grease.

I found two more bolts, they were tucked under and hiding.

Looks like I will half to remove the 3 PTO belts so I can rock the engine further

Thanks,

Finally got the 3 bolts out and the starter is slid back all the way.

I now need to try and get the PTO belts off, any tricks or ideas?

looks like I can slide the tensioner back a little to get them a little looser but they are still about to tight to get off.

I'll look into it more tomorrow, it got dark on me tonight and I didn't have much time to look at it.

Thanks again
