Congrats on getting the Kubota diesel Brian. I think the Kubota diesel will easily outperform the Kohler 14hp/16hp and the Onan 16hp/18hp engines. It may not beat the 18hp engines but I think it would run right there with them.

Thought I would update this engine thread, I have finally decided on what tractor it's going in and will try to start the project soon. This engine and a Hydro 2sp trans axle should make a good plow tractor.

You know before I had a 2spd axle I just couldn't see what the fuss was about. Now that I have used them I think they are great.

Go for it.

Chris, I have really been stuck on where or not to use a 2 speed. But I think it will make a lot better tractor overall.

Well since you mentioned the 2 speed rearend I assume a JD140 is not the project tractor. It would be awfully hard to squeeze a water cooled diesel in a 140 I think.

Yes, the Kubota will out perform the K321... and will AMAZE you at the lack of fuel it needs to do so.

Is it possibly a D4-10?

**edit**

Nevermind, Brian mentioned a plow tractor and I think I pushed my luck plowing with my D4-10.

Bobby, when I first got this engine, it was going into a JD 140. But I have decided to fit it into a red tractor. How many brands a red?
