What Fluid To Use In The 318 Rear? And Where Is The Fill Hole.

I need to know what fluid to use in the rearend of my 318, something that isn't John Deere brand.

 

Also, where is the fill hole for the rearend fluid.

I think the fill tube is under the hood next to the dash, left side as sitting in seat.  You can use any good hydraulic/transmission fluid (NOT straight hydraulic oil), which you can find at TSC or similar ag supply stores.

i personally use atf in my 316 the fill hole is the tube on the left side toward the dash

Ok, so dextron would be ok to use??

I am wondering if mine has Dextron in it right now, the fluid is red. :tapping_fingers:

Likely type F ATF, which is what the manual calls for for most of them.  There has been much discussion about this, so I went with the hydaulic/trans fluid.  I also personally use type F in my F935, which has the same hydro unit as yours.  I have also used the hyd/trans fluid.

Oh, and Dex III is ok as well, but not Dex II.
