Im new to the forum but have been around vintage tractors for a while now although I am not knowledgable. Ive been visiting the Zagray Farm  and tractor show (3 times a year in Colchester CT) for several years. I have also owned an old craftsman but after never getting to the project and knowing it needed a better home I sold it. The new owner had it going in no time. From the Same auction I bought that little tractor from I just picked up a 1970 Jacobsen 1000. Much rougher than the craftsman so Im gonna part it out. I part out dirt bikes and motorcycles on the side so Im new to the garden tractors but don't want to send it to the scrap yard. Am I too new to post to the classifieds? Well Thanks for help you have already given me and I look forward to continuing being apart of the site.

It looks much better in pictures.  Started getting into it today and found some good parts but also plenty of worn parts or old repairs. Ive developed this problem that unless its rare and I have to fix it to keep it for myself I end up parting it out.

Welcome to the forum!

You might try selling the old Jac whole first, you might be surprised who wants it. The problem with parting them out is you end up with a lot of pieces no one wants.

Welcome Jarrett. See you at Zagrays. It is a great meet. Bernardston and Orange are great shows also.

Welcome to GTtalk.  There are a lot of knowledgeable folks on here that can help you fix up the old Jacobsen. Since you already part out MC's are you adding GT as part of the business?

Thanks for letting me know when I can post to the classifieds. Ive found a lot of the same parts on ebay that are active or sold do I have an Idea of what they go for. I had someone who was interested in it and didn't want the deck but he didn't own and similar tractors and after talking to him for a few mins I could tell this was too deep of a project for him. I guess its safe to say I'm getting into parting GT. If I can save it from the scrap pile, help someone get going and help support my motor addictions its a success for me! If you're local I will always give the best deals in person!
