Dad and I made a quick trip up to Oelwein, IA to look at and buy some used electric motors, reduction gearboxes, and variable frequency drives. The guy we went to see buys closed down production plants and guts them to part out. We have dealt with him several times over the phone and web, but wanted to see his inventory in person. We made the deal on several pieces for a great price, but while we were there he showed us some of his toys. This guys has been into a lot of cool things. in the 80's he was into Drag racing and in the late 90's he got into mud bogging. He must have 20 mud bogging rigs sitting in the shops. Todd also has a couple of OCC choppers in his house, one that was custom built for him and one is a Black Widow production OCC bike. Here are the photos.

We did very well, I have 5 shrink warped pallets on the trailer that I will get photos of Monday. just 1 of the VFD drives we got is for up to a 25HP motor and we paid about 20% of new list for it and all the rest was free at the prices we gave for everything total. I was very happy with the parts we got and the deal we made !!

Some of those drives can fetch big $$$. I just had a small Lenze (German) Frequency Inverter burn up on a Hacoba spooling machine, Used they run 1k.

Glad you made a nice haul! It will be nice to see the pics

Everything was kool but the best was the el camino. Simple elegance. Did you show him the fun of old GTs? Glad that you had a good trip. Good Luck, Rick

Chris, Here are the photos of the motors, VFDs and Gear boxes we got. If it's in a box, it's brand new, unused parts.

Man, those are some nice toys, I would take any of the trucks and that Elky!

What do you do to be buying all these types of motors, etc?

What's in the super sacks?
