As everyone knows I have wanted a Sears FF for a long time. But, alas, they were all out of my reach. Somehow when I had money for one none were available, and once I spent the money on something (truck and house repairs, medical bills) one would pop up. Such it was when I saw one for sale in Columbia, SC last week.

I made a post about it hoping that someone on the board would buy it, and at least I would get to see pictures of it from time to time.

That post kind of took on a life of its own.

Then Old Buzzard got in on the act.

http://gardentractor...have-his-beard/

Well I figured that was all in good humor and didn't think it would go anywhere. How wrong I was.

The unbelievable members of this board ponied up $680 bucks towards the purchase. I was floored.

Well today was the big day. I hooked Christine up to the trailer and headed south. After a 3 hour drive I was there.

When I pulled in the driveway the bug eyed monster was there staring at me. I was giddy as a school girl.

The owner, Tom, had purchased the monster new and had used it since then to care for 17 acres of land. He really didn't want to part with it, but he is moving to Cary, NC to be near his family. He said the property was too much for him to take care of any more.

After I drove her up on the trailer he used his newer Kubota loader to put the attachments on the truck. He is going to sell the Kubota too. It will make someone a nice little machine.

After talking to him and his wife for a little bit and telling them my plans for it they agreed that I was the right buyer.

All the way back I was looking in the mirror at it and smiling.

It was way after dark when I got home. Too dark for pictures.

Steph and Heath came out and helped me get it unloaded and get the attachments off the truck and onto the trailer. Then she did her first job. She pulled the trailer around back.

After the trailer was dropped off Heath and I took a couple of laps around the house. Tom said he had never used the headlights. He turned them on while I was there and was surprised they worked. They lit up our tour of the yard.

Then I pulled it up behind the house and parked it. It will have to sleep outside for tonight because I am not going to fool around int eh dark to get the Hemorrhoid out of the KFTC and put the FF in tonight. I think she can take it.

Tomorrow I will get a good video of it and reveal some plans...

And the name.

Wednesday evening we are having a head shaving party because so many of my friends wanted to witness it. So I get to keep my mane for another day.

Nice to see it found a good home. And don't worry, the hair re grows at about 85-90% of what you had. There is always some that dies off, but it's OK.

I have enough hair for 3 heads so that is good news.

Sounds like it was meant to be yours Willie. Congratulations. One thing about those FFs is that they have a smiley face look to them. Yours seemed particularly happy to be on it's way home with you.

Congratulations Willie. You may find that you like the short hair for the summer. You should charge admission for the shearing to raise money for a new barn(everybody needs more space). Good Luck, Rick
