There    :dancingbanana:     Now   bolens 1000,,, I saw the beautiful resto on the bolens galery of your'e mower deck

I'm thinking of picking this up for my 1556...        Will it be a direct hook-up ???    It say's it is a 38"  and I notice it has no zerk holes for the pullys underneith....I also have seen a bar that has a bend across the middle back of some models...

The owner says it is a direct hook up for tube frames..

It looks to be in good shape  and been in a shed or something,,,it looks dry,,, no wet oil spots,,He say's it's tight and ready to go..

ANY input on this would be greatly app.         Thanks     sodi

This is an early 42'' Deck (Around 1966)

Assuming you have the rest of the hardware it Should be a direct fit, but with the additional sheet metal added to the frame and it being a hydro I cant give you a 100% definitive answer ......

What's the model number of the deck and I may be able to tell you if it will work or not.

Edit:

Definitely NOT interchangeable!

Just looked at my interchange list and the 18457 / 18458 Deck which is what this one is is classified as "Not Recommended"

The "old style" hangers this deck needs will not attach to the frame with those side panels in the way.

I kind of had a feeling this was the case

You should grab that deck for a future tractor though, its in very good shape with the original optional deck wheels!

my bol,1053..........    I have no ###.s.

I just down-loaded the model # 18457-01. parts list.    the green ones

and the           -----------------# 18421-01 parts list     red ones..--42"

There is quite a difference in the way they hook up...

I have a Red,,,18421-01....  42 "  deck,,, but someone ( borrowed )  the gear case and blades before I got it with my 1556

I'm thinking of getting it for the parts...   I hate to do it but !!!!!!!!!!!  buying the parts separate would cost a fortune...

I'm surprised to see the bearing housing and shafts are different ##--May be dif. diameters. ???

SO I may pick it up anyway..........  Is the 38 " the same as the 42" in the model--18457 ??   I'll keep a report on this,, here...

Yes, different shafts and bearings were used (About 3 variations)

A 18457 is a 42'' not 38''

The guy obviously dosent know what he has.

This is either a model 18457 / 18458 (Both were 42'' Decks)  The 38'' had a "Stubby" chute guard which is easily recognizable when you compare the two.

This deck in the listing would have been sold with the Husky 1000 or 1050 when it was new

I did find a decent place to get parts for your mower decks. If you look on eBay and type in bolens, you will see a guy with the name bolens 360. This guy can find a lot of different parts for your mower deck. He just fixed me up with all the parts I needed to rebuild my deck. Bearings, hubs, blades, shafts ect... This is the one sided sealed bearings so you can grease them . Even if you don't see what your looking for, just shoot him a email question and he just might be able to come up with what you need.
