I had one on a Craftsman, but don't have a clue what thickness it was. maybe 5/32" but there is a reinforcement around the edge, whatever it is was plenty, I used it like a bulldozer for a year.

I have a home made one. The frame bucket is made of sheet steel that is a little thinner than 1/8". It has a cutting edge added and some angle iron for strength. Good Luck, Rick

Here's how my Swisher bucket is done, it's about 1/16" on the sides, but reinforced everywhere. I can dig, beat stumps or whatever, with no problems. I left them large so you could see the details in how they did the reinforcement.
