I was out running today and stopped by a buddies house to see how things were going and this is what he had.He does not do the computer thing and wanted me to see if i could see when it was made,From another post i think it is a 1968 model.The id plate is 53075 and 1675.

That's a very nice looking Ford. 1968 sounds right for the year and it is a low serial as most models seem to have started at 1601.

Very nice machine!!!! :thumbs: Kinda rare as I haven't seen many a ford 80's with an electric PTO.

 

The year seems about right. The hood thumb screws were done away with in about 68, and a the gas cap access hole in the hood was added at the same time. This also consistent through 71. This was done so the hood didn't have to lifted to fill up the gas tank.

Yes, those are air horns you see in the 67!  LOL

I talked to the owner this morning and he said it is all original no restoration,I did not see it but the mower deck is just as nice.He was wondering if any one has any ideas on the number of them that were built.The first thing i ask him if it was for sale and it is not for sale

They made the model 80 for three years.66-68 model years. I would not consider them rare. They are out there to be found.
