last year I sold 2 of them on bay for $300. each. buy it now.

I you go to eBay and use the mouse over on the 2nd pic from the left, it looks like it continues around that 'leg'.

 

I'm thinking that it's a crack.

I agree, I thought that was the crack they were talking about when  I read earlier.

After looking at the second & fourth pic I say a crack all around. I wonder if this seller knows how famous he is today.

He beat you to it with an update to his ad:

 

On Mar-19-14 at 18:48:06 PDT, seller added the following information:

 

Please note: there are some manufacturing mold occlusions that show up in a couple of the photos that could be mistaken for cracks in the housing. I have cleaned, scrubbed, spotlighted, and closely examined these areas and they are nothing more than very slight ridges in the aluminum left over from the molding process.

You guys oughta look at your own differential cases, they all have these kind of casting marks.
