Good grief, you looked pretty rough in that photo George. It's good to hear from you and see that it was over quickly. It sounds like a very complex problem and one that modern medical techniques are helping to put right.

So did they give you a bionic ear?

Hope the recovery goes well and isn't too painful.

Look at it this way, you'll have plenty of time for site upgrades while you recuperate.  :D

Relax and take your time, man that looks painful. Good to hear that the left wasn't as bad as suspected.

I had an ear drum bust due to an infection when I was 7, one of the most painful things I have ever endured.

How's the patient doing?

Thanks for asking Alan. George is doing OK but not great yet. It will just take some time. Yesterday he had the hiccups for awhile which sure didn't help the pain. Apparently hiccups are a side effect of the anesthesia. We will be removing the bandages later today and gently cleaning the area.

My neighbor had surgery a month or so ago on his shoulder and ended up with a 3 day run of hiccups.

It's bad enough you have the pain without your whole body shaking when you get the hiccups. 3 days though after surgery that had to be miserable. George called right before 2 o'clock and said Erica came home early and had removed the bandages. Linda and I walked over to their place to see how everything was looking. All things considered I think it looks better than I expected.
