Wow, been at work all night and had to drive home in dark around 7ish.  Snow about 3" already and still coming down and blowing sideways hard!  No plows yet, have to follow the tire tracks of others. Pass lanes not clear enough to get around the 25mph drivers. One of those finally just stopped in lane and others had to drive around, including a semi and big standard truck. They made the tire lanes for the rest of us. Schools closed all over, bet the county closes down, like always. Real Wet and heavy, slides off the truck easy when it builds up bulk. Won't be seat time too soon, supposed to last all day!  I'll be sleeping most of it, heh, heh!

The Blizzard is coming here today.....

Most schools and businesses are shutting down already in anticipation for some very hazardous conditions.

This one is probably going to be real rough, they take the term "Blizzard" very seriously here in WNY after the one in 77' so you can bet this is going to be a big storm! 10''-14'' Expected with 45MPH wind gusts.

Stay Safe Everyone!

We're still in the rain here now. It's supposed to change to ice and then snow. The weather guessers are calling for anything between 2-12 inches before its done. Lows are supposed to go into the single digits tonight and then be close to 50 by the weekend.

So far we have had it miss us here in Northern Michigan. We are supposed to be very cold agin here tonight, -10 to -18 again tonight.  They say that from mid state south to the state line can expect and are getting freezing rain an up to 8" of snow. Over 700 shools closed in the Metro Detroit area.    Stay warm stay safe and drive carefully.                          Roger.

Heard this one was going to be serious. Thankfully I'm far enough south, we are only expected to get 1" of ice/snow mix this afternoon, raining like crazy right now. Glad I drove the Tahoe and not the Firebird like I was going to do.

Yes I seemed to have dodged this one. It went through the next county east of me. We did get some vicious winds but no snow and ice.

By the time that storm gets here it's supposed to be mostly rain. We have 2" of rain in the forecast for tonight and tomorrow morning then tapering off to a quick freeze later in the day. Hopefully that freeze up doesn't happen until after rush hour.  It's a nice day out there right now though.

Not much of a storm forecast here, however it is snowing and getting colder single digits for to-nite.
I think the bulk of the storm is heading east of us. Everyone stay safe.

Drizzled rain a bit before bed last nite, drove to work in about 3" near home, only an inch or so 20 minutes north, at work.  It was coming darn HARD, and the wind was probably 30mph-ish.  It was the greasy stuff, that's for sure.  Real slick on warmed up roadways.  It was 50* Tuesday, cooling off all day today, -4* by Thursday morning, and then 45* w/sun for Friday.

Ah well...the end is very near, and this will give me a few inches to play in with the new Sweepster before the final thaw.  The snow in my front yard is still belly-button deep.

Well, 6:00 o'clock now and just came in from pushing this Heavy stuff!  I clear some of yard too for dog, but was kinda muddy and I tore up some. BAD Me!!  Soon as you hit surface it melted and where plowed today is pretty much clear already. Slush is the name on roads I bet. NOW, gonna be getting cold, all this will freeze and down to 2* by Morning. Gonna be some rough stuff to drive on if still piled anywhere or ridges, etc. Ice probly too, hope not too slippery to drive. Was kind of like a 3hr Blizzard, then the sun came out and was actually kinda nice. That's when I got up and plowed. The hand shoveling clean-up was a back-breaker and stuck hard to shovels. Friday to be warm again and later rain days, sheesh!  Hope the Lion Left now, after that big Bite!
