Having sold all but 1 of my tractors last year I have been cruising the local CL ads and came across this

318 . Way back in another time in my life I bought my Dads like new 318.  I think it was in 81 or 82.

What I do remember is how much I liked that tractor. What engines did they use in them? I hate that I do not remember. The one thing I did not find great was the continual adjusting of the deck to keep a level cut.

He is asking $1700 for it?

318's used an Onan.
May have been replaced with something else.
Around here, unless its scrap metal 318's are 3 or 4 K.

I think it looks decent, but that has an hour meter on it. He didn't mention the reading on the hour meter.

Of the 3 decks available on the 318, (46, 48, 50) this one has the least desirable of the three. It has wheel weights which are worth a honeybee any day of the week. If runs strong with no smoke or surging, and checks out really good, I think the price is in the ballpark. Since a JD dealership has it and they tend to ask a higher price (usually) it might have an issue.

B43 or P218 Onan, depending on the year.

I did a SearchTemp & found several under $2000. Have you used this for searching before?

Seems I see them locally in the $1500-3000 range, depending on condition and attachments.

If everything checks out good with it, I don't think the price is out of line. The only downside is that attachments can be pricey for these. Although a 318 with attachments is very cool!!
